Why split GIFs can come out broken elsewhere
Optimised GIFs often store only the rectangle of pixels that changed since the previous frame, plus a “disposal” instruction that says what to do afterwards. Naive splitters export those raw patches, giving you strips and fragments. This splitter replays the animation exactly as a browser would — applying every disposal method — so each PNG is a complete picture.
If you only need one still image, GIF to PNG lets you pick a single frame with a preview slider, and Pause GIF lets you scrub to the exact moment first.
Editing frames and putting them back together
Split frames are perfect for retouching in an image editor, building a storyboard, or feeding a machine-learning dataset. When you’re done, reassemble them with Images to GIF. For game engines, GIF to Sprite Sheet packs every frame into one image with JSON coordinates, and GIF to PDF prints them as a contact sheet.
