Why boomerangs loop so well
A normal GIF loop jumps from the last frame back to the first, which is jarring unless the motion happens to end where it began. A boomerang never jumps: it plays forward, then retraces its steps, so the loop is seamless by construction. It’s a quick way to make phone clips, product shots and reactions feel polished.
Because a boomerang contains roughly twice as many frames, it’s about twice the size. Trim the source to the essential motion first, and compress the result if needed.
Reverse vs rotate vs flip
Reversing changes the direction of time. To turn the picture upside down or mirror it, use Rotate GIF. To change tempo, use the GIF Speed Changer; to make a boomerang into a phone wallpaper, see GIF to Live Photo.
