Trimming for a perfect loop
The most satisfying GIFs loop seamlessly — the last frame flows straight back into the first. Trim to a point where the motion returns to where it started (a swing at its peak, a character back in place). If no such point exists, a boomerang loops perfectly by playing forward then backward.
Trimming also cuts file size directly: every frame you remove is data you don’t ship. Combine with the GIF compressor for big savings.
Trim, split or speed up?
To remove a section from the middle, split the GIF with the GIF Splitter and rebuild it with Images to GIF. To keep everything but make it shorter, use the GIF Speed Changer. And if you’re starting from a video, set the start and end points in Video to GIF instead.
